The RACECAR Curriculum is a free, open-source robotics program curriculum designed to help schools and community programs teach robotics, even without experienced robotics teachers. Created by Team 4410 ARC Lightning, it walks students step-by-step through core concepts like algorithms, sensors, variables, and control systems using the LEGO SPIKE Prime platform.
Through structured lessons on color sensing, distance sensing, gyro control, wall following, and proportional (P) control, students progress from basic coding concepts to creating a fully autonomous race course robot. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning, real engineering problem solving, and confidence in experimentation, with the goal of making robotics accessible and scalable to inspire the next generation of STEM learn enthusiasts.
