September 30th, 2023 from 8:30am to 3pm at Andover High School, Andover MA

Open to all gender minorities who plan to pursue engineering

Join us for the Girls in Engineering and Robotics Symposium (GEARS)!

WHAT + WHY?

The Andover Robotics Club will be hosting its second annual Girls in Engineering and Robotics Symposium, or GEARS! The emphasis of the symposium is to provide gender minorities the ability to interact with role models and understand the career opportunities in the engineering and robotics fields. The event is also a chance to network with other girls of FIRST Tech Challenge Teams with similar interests. Our goal is to give students a vision into what their next steps would be after high school and how the skills they gained from FTC will prove to be beneficial now, as well as later in their career, regardless of whether they choose to pursue the engineering field. Over 50 students from all over Massachusetts ranging from middle to high school attended GEARS in 2022.

WHO?

GEARS features professional speakers from various backgrounds using their experiences to teach you about what a career in engineering and robotics is like, how to achieve such a career, and methods for personal development. We also hold hands-on technical workshops!
